KEMPS Usability Test

Page history last edited by Tre'Lon Hunt 9 years, 2 months ago

Hello ______________ _________________ ,

Note:  Web browser should be open to How to Play KEMPS.

I am Tre and i'll be facilitating a usability test today on my How To Play KEMPS article.

To get started, I need users to read my How To Play KEMPS article on WikiHow. The article contains rules and instructions on how to play KEMPS so you may need to review the article while performing the tasks step by step. This session should take no more than an hour.

This test tells me how well my article explains how to play the game so feel free to say that something isn't clear or understood.

My goal is to find out the struggles and unclarified rules of my instruction set. I would also like to answer a few questions that i have about teaching the game

As you use the site I ask that you think aloud so that i can understand what you're thinking or having a hard time with while reading the article.

It's not ok to hurt my feelings, except during this test so that i can make improvements.

If anything is unclear during the test, just ask me and I'll say what I can in order to help users progress through the game.

With your permission, I'll be taking pictures of the setup for the article and taking notes in order to judge performance. This test will include follow up questions as well.

Specific Tasks: I would like users to follow the guide in order to play the game. I want users to play at least 2 rounds so that I can observe how easy it is to pick up on the game after playing once.

Scenarios: Each outcome should be consistent with all other outcomes from the game in order to answer the questions that i have. Some games may take longer than expected.

Quantitative Metrics: I will record and observe how many times rules are broken, how quickly did players understand the game, and how long each game took.

Post-game Questionnaire:

  • "Is everything is clear after reading the rules?"

  • "On a scale of 1-3, how fun is the game?"

  • "Would you like to play again?"

  • "Would you teach this to friends in order to play again?"

  • "Do you think you be more comfortable playing this game with close friends"?
